Day 1: Fes - Ifran - Azrou - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert
Our Fez excursions and tours are available every day. Travel with Morocco Desert Life to explore best of Sahara. Departing early from Fes, we pass through Ifrane, a winter ski resort built in the 1930s to resemble a Swiss village. We will visit the cedars forest in Azrou, watch the local monkeys, and we drive across the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will have lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils, then we drive to Errachidia, Erfoud, and Rissani. Reaching Merzouga in the afternoon, we will prepare for a camel ride across to the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We enjoy the beautiful sunset and after 1-2 hours of riding, we will reach the desert camp. We will stay overnight in a Berber tent and after the delicious dinner, we enjoy the campfire and traditional music of the Berber songs.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges
Today in the early morning, we can climb the high dune and we walk over the sand dunes to watch the sunrise in Merzouga. We take a camel ride back to the hotel, where you can enjoy breakfast. We will head towards the gorges, stopping off at Rissani along the way, the town where the Alaouite Dynasty was established. Here you will see the historic monument of Sijilmasa, some of the many Kasbahs, the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, and the large souq. You will then continue passing through the Ziz Valley and walk through Todgha Gorge, where you can admire the stunning rivers and mountains. You will have dinner and stay overnight at a traditional Kasbah.
Day 3: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Marrakesh
After breakfast, you will walk around Todgha Gorge before driving towards Ouarzazate. You will stop for lunch at Dadès Gorges before reaching Ouarzazate in the afternoon. Explore the town, see the Kasbah of Taourirt, and visit the Atlas Studios, the largest and most famous film studio in all of Africa before exploring the historical Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou. From here you will head to Fint Oasis before traveling along the Tizi n’Tichka pass and stopping for lunch in a small village. You will then reach Marrakech in the late afternoon, where the tour ends. Our team would like to thank you for our trust and we wish you a happy return back home.
