Day 1: FES - IFRANE - MEDILT - MERZOUGA

Our Fez desert excursions and tours are available every day. Travel with Special Morocco Tours to explore the best of Sahara. After the hotel picks up we travel from Fez to Ifrane and the region is known as Moroccan’s Switzerland. We will watch the little monkeys in the cedar forest near Azrou, next, we visit Midelt before crossing the route through Tizi n Talghamt Pass. We will pass Errachidea and cross outstanding beauty at the Ziz Valley Gorge. We drive to Erfoud fossil city and Rissani, followed by exploring the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We stop off at our hotel, where we will spend the night at the foot of the dunes.

Day 2: MERZOUGA BERBER CAMP AND 4X4 EXCURSION IN SAHARA

Today after breakfast at the desert hotel, we explore the Sahara area by visiting the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan to discover their music and lifestyle, while not far away there is the lake of Merzouga with its bird populations. You can also visit the home of nomadic thread where many Berber handicrafts are cheaper than in the big cities. The afternoon is the time for your camel ride, guided by a man riding a camel experienced you discover the Sand Sea of Merzouga. Dinner is in front of the tent where you spend the night.

Day 3: MERZOUGA - TODRA GORGES - DADES VALLEY

Today very early in the morning, our camel guides will wake you up to watch Sahara sunrise followed by a camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga. After breakfast in the desert riad, we’ll leave for Rissani to explore traditional souk, we visit Tinijdad and Tinghir. We stop in Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco where may hike for an hour within the valley. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, we continue to the Dades Valley, via majestic sand castles and we see the amazing rock formations known as “Monkey toes”. Overnight at Dades gorge local riad /hotel.

Day 4:DADES VALLEY - KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU - TIZ N’TICHKA ATLAS PASS - MARRAKECH

This morning we continue our Morocco desert tour from Fez along the Route of a 1000 Kasbahs to Ouarzazate for a lunch break. Then visit Ait Benhaddou a wonderful kasbah classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During our guided Atlas visit to the Kasbah, you will lose yourself in the narrow, winding passageways. We continue via the spectacular Tizi n’ Tichka Pass before we arrive at the city of Marrakech and we drop you off at your riad/hotel.
