Day 1: Casablanca – Marrakech and City Tour with a Local Guide
Our Casablanca tours and desert excursions are available every day. Travel with Special Morocco Tours to explore the best of Sahara. In the morning you’ll visit Casablanca, the economical Capital of Morocco. First, you’ll visit the central market, the Habous district, the Royal Palace, the Mohamed V square, the residential area of Anfa, and outside of the mosque Hassan II. Then we’ll drive to Marrakech for a guided visit to the best sightseeing including the 16th century Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, Koutoubia. Minaret and Menara Gardens. Afternoon we will visit the Djemaa El Fna square, which by day is a marketplace but at night is a place of non-stop entertainment; this area is great for bargain hunt in the souks and handicraft shops of Marrakech. Overnight at Marrakech local riad.
Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Following a pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, we will head to Ouarzazate crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi N’ Tichka Pass. We discover the most famous Kasbah in Morocco, Ait Benhaddou, and enjoying views of the Atlas Mountains. We pass through Ouarzazate in the famous Valley of Roses and Dades Valley, reaching the Dades Gorge in time to watch the sunset. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Riad or Hotel.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, take an optional walk through the Dades Gorge. Then, drive the Road of A Thousand Kasbahs, passing the village of Tinghir. Arrive at the Todra Gorge in time for lunch. Back on the desert road, journey to Merzouga, via Erfoud and Rissani. Then we enjoy 1 hour and a half camel trek will take us to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the highest in North Africa. The camp consists of three comfortable Berber tents equipped with mattresses, linen, toilets, a restaurant, and a kitchen. The evening will consist shooting stars show, then dinner followed by a traditional music show and overnight in a nomad camp in tents.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes
Today early in the morning we watch the stunning views of the dunes at sunrise. We head back to our Kasbah in Merzouga by camel ride. We travel through Rissani and Erfoud to the dramatic Ziz Gorge, we pass spectacular Ziz oases, the largest oases in Morocco. After lunch in Midelt, we continue to Azrou, Ifran, and the city of Fes, the cultural capital of Morocco, and one of the most complete medieval Islamic cities in the world. The trip ends after making sure that you got to your hotel / Riad.
Day 5: Fes City Tour and Travel Back to Casablanca
Today we will begin our guided tour of the Fez medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets, and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places you will experience. For lunch, you will eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch, you will complete the tour and return to your hotel for the evening. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant. Then you will be transferred to the Casablanca airport or hotel.
