Day 1: FES - IFRANE - MEDILT - MERZOUGA

Our Fez desert excursions and tours are available every day. Travel with Special Morocco Tours to explore the best of Sahara. Our professional driver will meet you at your accommodation at 8.30 am and we traveling through spectacular landscapes through the cedar forest where the indigenous Barbary Monkeys live near the Alpine towns of Ifran and Azrou. We leave the High Atlas and reach Midelt famous apple city where we stop for lunch. We pass the Ziz Valley with its extensive oasis of palms with hidden kasbahs and we continue through Erfoud; known for its fossil products. We will arrive in the Sahara and the town of Merzouga where you will be spending the night with dinner.

Day 2: ERG CHEBBI SAHARA DESERT EXCURSION

Today we explore the desert, we discover hidden oases, and settlements, we enjoy drinking tea with Nomads and learning about local tribes and different cultures. Erg Chebbi is the name given to the largest dune which reaches around 250 meters and the sunrise and sunset alter the golden colors making those times of day really magical. In the afternoon, we will be taking a camel ride for 2 hours to reach your Berber camp for this night. We will prepare a tasty dinner, we play traditional local Berber music for you and we watch stars in the desert. Overnight in desert camp.

Day 3: MERZOUGA - RISSANI - TODRA GORGE

Today you will enjoy desert sunrise, followed by a camel ride back to the riad in Merzouga where you take a shower and breakfast. Then we visit the village of Khamlia where descendants of Sudanese slaves have made their homes; they play a special kind of Gnawa music which tells the stories of their heritage. We leave the Sahara and drive towards Tinghir to explore the spectacular Todgha Gorge; a 300-meter high canyon that divides the High Atlas and the Saghro Mountains which is very popular with trekkers and climbers. Dinner and accommodation in a nearby local hotel.

Day 4: DADES VALLEY – VALLEY OF ROSES – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE

After breakfast, we’ll explore the Dades Valley and its gorges, then Kalaa M’gouna driving through thousand kasbahs. We visit a nomad family in the mountain living in caves and we explore Kalaa Mgouna “the rose city” to purchase the rosewater. Continuing on to Skoura we’ll visit the Kasbah Ameridil. It is a well-preserved Kasbah in this area, we will have a traditional Moroccan lunch, then it’s on to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. We visit the Atlas movie studios, containing props used in movies such as The Mummy, Gladiator, and The Last Temptation of Christ. Overnight accommodation in a riad with dinner and breakfast the next morning.

Day 5: OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU UNESCO KASBAH – ATLAS - MARRAKECH

Today after breakfast we’ll visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, which is the largest Kasbah in Morocco and has been built by Thami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains. This kasbah is one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites. Our journey continues through the Tizi n Tichka Pass over the High Atlas Mountains. We explore the way and the process of making Argan. Finally getting to Marrakech and the end of 3-day Fes to Sahara tour.
